Meet Aaron Weston
Who I Am
I’ve worked in IT for more than 40 years. For 20 of them, I owned and ran an award-winning computer and network consulting firm. Lawyers and corporate legal teams trusted me with their infrastructure and their clients’ most sensitive data, and the media regularly came to me for on-air analysis and quotes on technology and digital security.
Over the years I’ve worked on high-stakes criminal cases involving digital evidence, testified against veteran police forensic units, and been qualified by judges to give expert testimony and advise on cross-examination in complex technical matters.
But that’s not what makes me different.

I Know How It Feels
I’ve been lied about, defamed and falsely accused. I’ve had to track down people who used fake reviews to damage my business, and deal with competitors who didn’t play by the rules.
Then someone set out to destroy my life with false allegations. While everything around me was falling apart, I was preserving screenshots, pulling metadata and rebuilding timelines of my own communications. I tried telling the truth. It didn’t matter. The narrative was already written, and the facts were treated as inconvenient.
I know what that does to a business, a career, a family and a person’s health.
It also taught me the lesson my whole practice is built on. In court, a convincing story means nothing. Evidence that’s properly preserved, authenticated and put in order means everything, and so does an expert who can explain it under hostile cross-examination without overstating a single thing.
That’s why I built Wolfsec Systems.
What I do now
Who I Work With
All my work is remote, by secure encrypted transfer, for clients across the US and Canada.
Defense attorneys. When a client’s freedom depends on digital evidence, I review it independently: police Cellebrite extractions, data dumps, timelines, and the technical claims behind a warrant or ITO. I’ve testified against veteran police forensic units and worked on wrongful conviction cases, including one of the largest digital-evidence cases of its kind in Canada. For trial, I prepare cross-examination questions and give expert testimony.
Family law and corporate counsel. Hidden assets, lifestyle that doesn’t match the disclosure, targeted defamation, fraud, impersonation, and accounts nobody will admit to running. I run OSINT investigations using lawful public sources, documented so they hold up.

How I Work
My job is to make sure that when you swing, you don’t miss. Sometimes that means telling you not to swing at all.
I work for defense counsel, but my duty is to the evidence. If the data supports the other side on a point, you’ll hear it from me first, privately, while there’s still time to plan around it, not from the prosecution’s examiner in front of a jury. That honesty is what makes the rest of my findings worth believing.
In practice, that means:
- I go below the report. A Cellebrite report is one tool’s reading of a phone. I check what the device actually recorded: which database, which field, which event.
- I say exactly what the evidence supports. “This shows,” “this is consistent with,” “this we can’t confirm.” Never more than the data allows, because overstatement is the first thing a good cross-examiner goes after.
- I document everything. Files are preserved, hashed and handled under a documented chain of custody, so the work holds up when it’s challenged.
- I explain it plainly. To you, and to a judge or jury if it gets that far.
